Secondhand Goods Give New Life

If you are clearing your garage, downsizing or simply doing a spring clean, you can either drop off secondhand items at a U-turn location or request collection using the form below if your donation is larger than your car can manage. Your secondhand item will either be given to someone sleeping rough as they start their journey out of homelessness (in exchance for Mi-change vouchers) or sold at a U-turn charity shop. The shops provide formerly homeless champions on U-turn’s Phase 3 Work-Readiness with work opportunities, stipends and on-the-job training. What can you donate to U-turn?

Secondhand Clothing

Please note we cannot accept branded clothing (eg. with the UCT logo or a company logo), underwear, single shoes or socks. Otherwise, we take everything!

Although all our clothes are laundered, it certainly helps us if you are able to donate washed and undamaged clothing.

Household Goods

We accept bric-a-brac, furniture, beds, bedding, and just about anything else you may want to donate.

Office Equipment

U-turn is able to collect large quantities of stock including office furniture, computers and other items, request collection using the form below

Much of the donated office equipment helps to run U-turn offices, shops and business. Items that cannot be used internally, are sold in U-turn charity shops.

Please note, SARS does not allow Section18a certificates for donated secondhand goods.
