He died in the night from exposure to wet and cold conditions (read the article here).

There are over 7,500 homeless people in Cape Town and only 2,500 beds available in shelters. Every night, thousands of people face a similar ending. As a society we need to invest in long term solutions.

To honour of the unknown homeless man and raise awareness for long term solutions, U-turn is asking you to write and submit a poem so that less people face death on the streets during winter.

Please submit your poem  below. Poems will be published on U-turn’s Facebook Page, a selection poems will also be read U-turn’s Annual Thanksgiving on June 4, as well as at other events over the coming Winter months. Thank you! [/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1/2″][vc_custom_heading text=”Submit your poem” google_fonts=”font_family:Roboto%3A100%2C100italic%2C300%2C300italic%2Cregular%2Citalic%2C500%2C500italic%2C700%2C700italic%2C900%2C900italic|font_style:400%20regular%3A400%3Anormal” css=”.vc_custom_1557750287571{margin-top: 0px !important;border-top-width: 0px !important;padding-top: 0px !important;}”][vc_column_text][/vc_column_text][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/2″][vc_single_image image=”2591″ img_size=”full”][/vc_column][/vc_row]
